Changes to service due to COVID-19

We are responding to official advice to protect the health and wellbeing of staff and the community, and to limit the spread of the COVID-19 coronavirus.

We have had to make some changes to how we provide non legal advocacy services to people subject to or at risk of being placed on a compulsory treatment order.

As of the 19 of March 2020, we may no longer be attending mental health units but we will be continuing to provide services mostly by phone.

How to contact an advocate and get help

Call our intake line on 1300 947 820 during business hours

Email contact@imha.vic.gov.au

Call 1800 959 353 to hear a recording of your rights (24 hours)

Use our self-help tool and speak up for your views and preference with mental health staff.

Download our poster for mental health consumers and carers

We have partnered with a range of mental health safeguard and oversight bodies to produce a poster. It will help mental health consumers and carers contact the service they need.
